Attorney J. Scott Bertram

Scott Bertram is a graduate of Missouri State University, and the University
of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law. He has practiced since 1974.

Prior to 1997, Scott Bertram handled primarily
medical negligence cases with an emphasis in injuries to children due to obstetrical or neonatal
negligence, and handled numerous cases involving clients who became HIV
positive due to blood transfusions.

Transvaginal Mesh Litigation
Mr. Bertram has and/or is representing over 1,500 plaintiffs in the transvaginal

Known for Excellence
Mr. Bertram has also represented approximately 100 plaintiffs who claim
they have developed tardive dyskinesia as a result of taking the heartburn
drug Reglan. Those cases are now pending in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and
California, and Mr. Bertram has played a key role in helping to get these
cases moved towards resolution.
Further, Mr. Bertram is representing several hundred individuals who have
suffered extensive, and sometimes fatal injuries associated with IVC Filters
used to prevent blood clots. Mr. Bertram is also evaluating potential
claims with regard to Invokana and Taxotere, among other defective drugs
and medical devices.
Scott Bertram is a former chairman of the Lawyers for Children Committee
of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. He has also spoken both
locally and nationally at seminars on pharmaceutical product liability
litigation and
medical malpractice, and has contributed to several texts, including: Medical Malpractice
in Missouri, and Trial Advocacy in Missouri. He was also selected as a
Super Lawyer in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
